ABOUT TORCH LABS

Field intelligence built from the work outward.

Torch Labs develops infrastructure for capturing, organizing, reviewing, retrieving, and maintaining practical knowledge in skilled trades.

The problem Torch Labs is building for

Critical construction knowledge is often split between formal documents, scattered files, demonstrations, conversations, and the memory of experienced people. That makes useful experience hard to find and difficult to pass between crews without losing its context.

Torch Labs is building a field-intelligence layer that preserves provenance and review status while making relevant knowledge easier to retrieve through Jack.

CAPTURE

Preserve the explanation

Record interviews, demonstrations, field notes, and source material with ownership and context.

REVIEW

Keep evidence visible

Separate contributed material from reviewed knowledge and flag gaps that still require qualified attention.

RETRIEVE

Return it to the work

Help authorized teams find relevant, cited knowledge without replacing the documents and people that govern the task.

Founded from construction experience

Derek Chok is the founder of Torch Labs and a Red Seal welder with two decades of construction experience. Torch grew from a problem he encountered in the field: useful judgment is frequently passed down informally and can disappear when people, crews, and projects change.

The development direction is field-intelligence infrastructure for skilled trades—not a marketplace and not a replacement for qualified supervision.
